A 4-week summer program where High School students with Down syndrome have individualized on-site career experiences along with in-class soft skills employment training. Class is Monday to Thursday from June 20 to July 14, 2022 from 9am to 1pm at the DSAGR office. Students will be in-class two days per week (M/W) and then on a job site two days per week(Tu/Th). The student will rotate through 4 different job sites for a well-rounded career exploration experience. While at the job site, they will have the opportunity to practice the soft skills they are learning in class and have the support of a job coach.
The class is limited to 8 students and is first come, first served. Students must be16+ and in high school. Priority will be given to applicants that will commit to the entire 4 weeks and to first time students (returning students may register after May 23). Transportation to the office and to the job site is the responsibility of the parent/caregiver. Covid precautions will be in place and students may have to wear a mask. Cost is $300 for the entire class.
