Staff Updates

Warm Wishes to Mary Margaret

The staff and families at DSAGR wish Mary Margaret the very best in her next career steps as she moves on from DSAGR.  Mary Margaret served DSAGR for 4 years in her roles of Family Care Coordinator and Program Coordinator, and many years before that as a volunteer for the many programs DSAGR Offered. We are so grateful for every life she touched and every family she empowered through her years of service and look forward to staying in touch with her as a member of our community!

Welcome to the VCU MSW Interns

Raena Gradford (she/her) graduated from Old Dominion University in 2020 obtaining her Bachelors of Science degree in Women Studies and Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations. She is currently in her second year of the MSW program at Virginia Commonwealth University and interning for the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Richmond. She found a passion in working with and serving families and individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. In her free time Raena enjoys working as a children’s dance teacher at the Art of rhythm Dance Company, going to the gym and spending quality time with her niece and nephew.

Sherry Klauer (she/her) holds a BS in Commerce from the University of Virginia and is currently pursuing her Masters in Social Work at Virginia Commonwealth University. She left the corporate world to care for her three children in 2007 and made a career shift to mind/body wellness after her daughter was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2009. She serves as Program Director at The Innerwork Center and teaches yoga (500RYT), meditation and mindfulness in various studios in the RVA area. In her free time, she loves to camp, experiment with vegan recipes and snuggle with her sassy French bulldog, Roxie.
